Level 3 gala with all distances/strokes over 3 days – Friday evening 800m and 1500m events only.
Recommended gala for all swimmers 9 and over; please talk to your child’s coach about which events to enter. There is no need to stay for the whole weekend if you don’t wish to, just choose events accordingly. UASC will have several coaches & helpers on poolside for the whole weekend and there will be groups of swimmers/parents staying in local hotels – please ask any committee member for hotel recommendations. Lead poolside coach will be Caroline Boyle.

CLUB CLOSING DATE 20th August. Please note this gala clashes with Barrow’s Halloween Gala on Saturday 28th October because of this at present there are no Ulverston coaches or poolside helpers going to this gala so please check before entering – if you have Safeguarding and DBS qualification you can look after your swimmer or alternatively we can arrange for them to be with another local club.

Level 3 Sprint Gala: 50m all strokes, 100m all strokes, 100m IM. Upper limit times only – recommended for all Ulverston swimmers from age 9 upwards. Please ask your child’s coach for advice on which races to enter or email galaentries@uasc.me.uk
Level 1 gala – Age groups: year of birth 2002 or later, 2001 or earlier. Closing date for entries to galaentries@uasc.me.uk October 8th 2017.
NEW EVENT – for swimmers aged 8/under and Pre-pups, Pups and Snow Otters 9/over
PROVISIONAL DETAILS – TO BE CONFIRMED.
This is an unlicenced gala comprising 25m races, all strokes, for age 8/under and 50m races, all strokes for age 9/over plus 100IM for all ages.
The purpose of the gala is to give racing experience to our youngest and newest members.
Free entry will be by a list on the noticeboard; please check with your child’s coach before entering butterfly, breaststroke or Individual Medley to ensure that they are able to swim the stroke legally.
Ribbons will be awarded to the fastest 6 swimmers in each age group for each event.
Parents are very welcome to watch the racing from poolside or from the foyer but please note that swimmers must stay with the team until they are finished and go to get changed.
